A wonder strike from near the halfway line in the opening seconds of a decider stood tall as a clear goal of the day as the champions were decided at the Sydney International Cup.
Institute of Baller’s under-11s final against Soccer De Brazil shaped as a quality match-up between two teams who had scored plenty of goals through this tournament, putting a combined 50 into the back of the net.
But the decision to shoot from the kick-off put all the momentum behind IoB.
The striker tapped the ball with his left foot, beat a defender with his right, then unleashed a vicious long range strike which left the goalkeeper in all sorts.
It all happened within 10 seconds of the kick-off, and it set the pace for a frenetic first half in which IoB poured in four classy goals which showcased the group’s pace, shot power and precision finishing.
That final differed to plenty of others on the day, which needed penalties to decide the victor.

“It helps to teach them resilience,” Georgievski said.
“It’s good to see what’s out there, quality wise, with other teams and players.
“The kids really enjoy it, even when they lose it’s all just part of learning.”
