The Western Clydesdales put in one of their most gallant performances in recent weeks but it was ultimately not enough for them to claim victory as the Tweed Seagulls picked up a 34-20 win on Sunday.

The Dalby faithful were treated to an entertaining 11-try thriller where momentum ebbed and flowed throughout the 80 minutes of action.

Check out the biggest talking point from the clash below.

Magical Buhse performance

Moving Kaden Buhse from the wing to fullback was a masterstroke from Clydesdales coach Jason Alchin as the Darling Downs young gun had a sensational game.

Buhse’s class and poise was demonstrated in two key moments which had direct impacts on the score.

The first game-changing moment came with five minutes left in the first half with the Seagulls in attack holding a 12-6 lead.

Tweed gun Jackson Owen made a blistering line break and seemed certain to cross over for a try.

However, a last ditch dive from Buhse forced a knock-on in goal from Owen.

The Clydesdales then scored from the following set to tie the game up at 12-all headed into the break.

His second moment of magic came in the second half when he made a stunning offload flick pass to set up a try for Levi Helleur-Atiga.

Clydesdales concede early again

One area that Jason Alchin will be desperate to improve will be his side’s defensive work to begin clashes.

The Clydesdales had a sloppy start defensively as they gave up three penalties in the opening eight minutes which led to two Tweed tries.

This has been a major cause for concern for the Clydesdales as they have now conceded inside the opening seven minutes in six of their last eight games.

Six-minute barrage changes game

With just under half an hour left to play, the Clydesdales were in a strong position as they held a 16-12 lead.

However, a stunning six-minute assault saw the tides of the contest shift dramatically back into the visitors’ favour.

With three tries from three consecutive sets, the Seagulls held a 28-16 lead with 20 minutes to play where the visitors held on to claim a comfortable win.

Both offences firing on all cylinders

With 11 tries scored, Dalby fans were treated to some irresistible attacking play from both sides.

It was not just the end product which was elite, throughout the middle of the ground, the forwards made countless barnstorming runs up the field creating a thrilling end-to-end battle.

Both teams incredibly averaged more than 50m gained per set, with the Seagulls (54.52) narrowly edging out the Clydesdales (52.34) in that department.
