Help us out please Santa
Here’s a list of Christmas sporting presents we are hanging out for.
Sport
Don't miss out on the headlines from Sport. Followed categories will be added to My News.
JASON GIBBS: I want to say a ticket to the UEFA Champions League final but I don't fancy travelling to Turkey.
The fanatics over there don't fancy foreign football fans all that much and I don't want to go unless there's a guarantee that Tottenham are in it and will win.
Scratching that dream ticket off the list I was thinking about asking for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to loosen the purse strings so we can go big in the January transfer market.
But I know my club and there's a better than average chance that's won't happen.
I wouldn't mind an all expenses paid trip to the United States of America for the CrossFit Games but I'm not fit enough to sit in that crowd.
So with all that in mind I know exactly what I want from jolly old Saint Nick.
First of all I'd love a really cool Thor costume - hammer, helmet and some fake abs.
Next up will be tickets for me and the wife to the PDC World Darts Championship final and some custom beer steins for the both of us.
I love watching the darts on telly and I'd love to see an event live.
Everything seems so intense when the player steps up to the mark but at the same time everyone is having so much fun.
GLEN McCULLOUGH: I wonder if Roger (above) has another Slam win in him?
I think he has, but you'd reckon 2020 will be his final chance to bag one.
A win in Melbourne next month would be a great belated Christmas present for his mountain of admirers.
While we are wishing for major victories, an Aussie winning one of the big four is always a special moment for Australian sport and here's hoping someone can snag another next year.
The Masters would be my preference, but I'm not sure if we have the cattle at present.
On the local front, I hope Santa can deliver us rivers of rain.
I know the drought is costing people livelihoods and sadly lives, but if our sport fields and venues - in country centres particularly - don't receive a big drink shortly, I'm not sure where sport clubs and players are headed in 2020.
Santa, could you please also deliver us another wonderful Queensland PGA Championship at City Golf Club in February and a successful Weetwood race day at Clifford Park in its new September slot.
SEAN TEUMA: There's a few things that come to mind.
The Demons finishing above 17th in the AFL is a start, and South Sydney managing to convert a preliminary final appearance into a grand final would also be handy.
But I think the best hope would be another Sydney Kings championship in the NBL after over a decade in the wilderness.
This year seems different.
There's a real buzz around the club, particularly with Casper Ware playing lights out on a weekly basis.
Crowds are flocking to the capital of hoops in Australia, and there's a genuine dislike of the Kings from around the league, so a chip to top that off would be perfection.
From a local perspective, it would be our local teams in statewide competitions, such as the Mountaineers, Mustangs and Rangers all enjoy success in 2020.
The Mountaineers in particular had a tough time of it this year, but here's hoping they can turn it around in what is an exciting time for basketball in Queensland with the NBL1 North's inaugural season.
