RACING: He has some smart family genes to live up to and Toowoomba four-year-old Supersonic Boom put them to good use to wrap up his latest win at Clifford Park today.

Supersonic Boom ($8) notched career win number five with a front-running performance for jockey Carly Frater in the Richard Adams Homes Class 5 Handicap (1200m).

After finding a kick on straightening, Supersonic Boom safely held off the late charge of Mr Tickets ($6) by a length while Rhyming Puppet finished ¾ length back third after trailing the winner into the home straight.

Supersonic Boom (Spirit Of Boom-Star Of Kristle) is a half brother to his trainer Rex Lipp’s exciting three-year-old Gem Of Scotland who has raced to six wins from nine starts.

“His mother was unraced but she has done a good job as a broodmare and this bloke is a half-brother to Gem Of Scotland,” Lipp said.

“He’s proved to be handy and is going well at the moment.

“He’s got better as he’s gone along and I always thought he’d improve with a bit of age on him.”

Lipp said Gem Of Scotland was on target to resume racing at Clifford Park on February 26 in the QTIS Jewel Qualifier over 1000 metres.

The remainder of the seven-race card was dominated by trainer Lindsay Hatch and jockey Josh Oliver.

The pair teamed for a winning treble with Love Yers All ($3.10 fav), Gunnobe ($2.50 fav) and Aladina ($4.80).

# MISHANI El Lobo ($10) handed Toowoomba trainer Troy Pascoe his first Saturday metropolitan winner with an all-the-way effort in Saturday’s Open Handicap at Clifford Park.

Earlier Uncle Harry ($4.60) collected his second career win for Toowoomba trainer Steve Kirkwood in the Two-Year-Old Handicap.

THE WIN

MICHAEL Nolan has saddled several smart first-up winners in recent months and KISUKANO joined the party in spectacular fashion with a slick debut under Skye Bogenhuber in the QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate.

THE TRAINER

LINDSAY HATCH emerged from Clifford Park’s summer Saturday break in top form. Stable wins from Love Yers All, Gunnobe and Aladina extended his premiership lead to seven over Mark Currie and Michael Nolan.

THE RIDER

JOSH OLIVER also wasted no time finding his Clifford Park Saturday night touch to team with Hatch for a winning treble abard Love Yers All, Gunnobe and Aladina.

FROM THE STAND

Race 1: A quiet betting Class 5 to start the night off on. There was no real money for We Built This City and Victory Toast. The connections were on Cliveden at 17.00 and By The Law saw good money at odds also. Macmissile was the bookies worst. The winner Supersonic Boom was ridden a treat by Ms C Frater and got the bookies off to a good start.

Race 2: A good betting race here for the bookie with a lot of small bets written.Whistlindixie Lad had friends at 101.00. Tesarc went into the book at 8.00 and She Likes A Drink had support at 26.0. The bookie’s worst way was Lucky Siren with one cash bet of $250 eachway at 8.50. The connections jumped in early on the winner Love Yers All at 4.00 and no doubt a sling was in order for Josh Oliver.

Race 3: There were good each way bets for Real Patriot at 8.00 with one cash bet of $200 eachway at 8.00. The real money was on Alleviator 3.00 into start 1.90 on the QOP. The money came back to the track and there was a phone bet of $800 at 2.50 and follow-up cash bets on track at 2.40. The winner Fantasay was 5.50 into start 5.00 with no real bets taken and a result for the bookie.

Race 4: A quiet betting maiden race, with good eachway bets written on The Hand at 10.00. Knucklebox was specked at 11.00.The real money was on the favourite and winner Gunnobe 2.60 into start 2.50. There was one good phone bet of $1000 at 2.50 and follow-up cash bets to give the bookie his worst result for the night.

Race 5: The connections were strong on Niatross and they put plenty on. The favourite The Potato Pontiff was very hard to lay and the bookie was 3.50 at the jump with no takers. Moss Go Now was backed eachway at 10.00. The winner Aladina was 6.00 into 4.80 on the QOP and the bookie missed a bullet here to win on the race.

Race 6: Here punters only wanted to watch and see how good the tip was on Kisukano. The early shoppers got 4.00 on the corporates and that went off quicker than you could blink. The mail was right and when Kisukano got away from the barriers the race was all over. The short price of 1.35 on track was warranted and Kisukano sailed home for an easy win.

Race 7: A quiet race to finish the night off on, with little bets written. Happy Bibi was unwanted in the betting and was 3.00 at jump time and no takers. Wealth’N’Power saw small eachway bets. Steady Star was backed by the connections and could have been a bad result for the bookie. Home sailed the winner Sheindlin to save the bookie and sent him home a winner on the night.
