Farr victorious as Pink Night shines

SPEEDWAY: A round three Ultimate Sprintcar Championship win to Robbie Farr highlighted a successful night of racing and fundraising last Saturday at Hi-Tech Oils Toowoomba Speedway.

A large crowd was on hand for the Ultimate Pink Night meeting and with strong sponsorship backing it helped raise $8000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation to cap the most successful Toowoomba Pink event yet.

On the track, 20 cars lined up in the 30-lap USC A main feature where Farr did best in a five-lap sprint to the finish after a restart to defeat Luke Oldfield.

Bryan Mann rounded out the podium after passing Mitchell Gee on the low line with five laps to go.

Brent Kratzmann crossed the line in fourth while Mitchell Gee rounded out the top five.

In qualifying Toowoomba’s Andrew Scheuerle set the fastest time in his group, stopping the clock at 11.993 seconds.

In the Modified Sedans the racing was superb with Darran Lester and Brodie Boss from Mackay sharing the front row, Mick Shelford and Josh Crang the second row with Toowoomba pair Rodney Pammenter and Shane MacDonald rounding out the third row in the starting order.

Boss went on to win the event from Lester with Toowoomba’s Nathan MacDonald third.

RSA: 1. Glenn Leslie 2. Zane Williams 3. Michael Taylor.
