RACING : Clifford Park racing is spreading its word to a new national and international audience thanks to an enterprising move by Toowoomba Turf Club.

Saturday night racing at Clifford Park has joined major TAB racing venues around the nation with the introduction of race previews and analysis and post-race interviews.

Club committee member and race caller Anthony Collins is driving the new service with the assistance of fellow caller Ben Hall.

Colleagues Brett Moody and Damian Courtney are also a part of the team as back-up analysts and interviewers.

The service offers a parade yard report and late mail tips and interviews with winning trainers and jockeys.

Sky Racing has agreed when possible to take the service which is also available on the Sky Racing Active app.

In a further exposure boost for Toowoomba Turf Club, Sky International takes the action live with the Clifford Park information available to punters in Singapore.

Hall said the added service has been well received in its opening weeks with trainers and jockeys all showing support for the initiative.

“Everyone is keen to be a part of it and it’s been well received across the board,” Hall said.

“People like to be informed with as much added information as we can pass on and it’s good to see Clifford Park racing gaining this extra exposure.

“We speak about each runner as they parade before coming up with late mail selections and part of our interviews with jockeys includes asking about their upcoming rides at the meeting.”

Turf club CEO Lizzy King said the club is excited to be helping bring added focus on Clifford Park racing.

“The new service brings a whole new world of exposure to Clifford Park,” King said.

“Anything we can do to attract more eyes on Clifford Park and focus on the great talent we have here, we are happy to be a part of.”
