Sydney Thomas is embracing her newfound fame after the ring girl stole the spotlight during the controversial fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul on Saturday.

The 20-year-old model was the big winner from the blockbuster event at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, where Paul’s unanimous decision win turned into a farce.

She’s now answered the big questions all her fans want to know during a social media Q+A that revealed her meteoric rise is far from over.

She was one of five ring girls deployed for the event, but she was the one who turned heads and quickly began trending on social media platforms, The New York Post reports.

Taking to her Snapchat, Thomas, who had the internet buzzing during the bout, posted a video showing multiple news articles about herself on Sunday.

“This is just so crazy to me,” Thomas, 20, wrote.

The ring girl, who’s currently a student at the University of Alabama, also shared The New York Post’s headline about her.

During the candid share session the university student also dropped the insane stat that her social media fame has exploded by more than 500,000 in the space of 48 hours.

She was happy to reveal details of how she ended up in the ring between Paul and Tyson, despite having very limited experience in the business.

The fight marked Thomas’ second time as a ring girl after her debut with Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions at an event in Puerto Rico last month.

“I was found through social media!” she said after one fan asked how she became a ring girl. “I did my first fight in Puerto Rico a month ago and Paul x Tyson was my second time in the ring!”

Thomas, who will celebrate her 21st birthday on November 26, is studying management with a focus in entrepreneurship.

“I got to school at the University of Alabama, finishing a year early and doing all my classes online!!” she wrote.

Thomas explained her favourite part about being a ring girl at the Tyson-Paul fight.

“Being in the ring with Mike Tyson for sure,” she wrote. “It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. He’s such a legend.”

Thomas added that she enjoys interacting with fans in the crowd at fights.

“People are always waving, blowing kisses, etc., it’s fun to engage with!!” she said.

The 5-foot-9 model went on to explain that she got her start in the industry through social media.

“This summer I walked in my first runway show during Miami Swim Week,” Thomas wrote, including a clip of her modelling a bikini on the runway. “I’ve worked with a few brands as well but I think social media is where I’ve found the greatest publicity to be. (Prior to Paul v Tyson).”

Thomas on Monday revealed her shock at seeing the magnitude of her sudden stardom.

“Im happy you guys enjoyed the broadcast!!” Thomas captioned a video on TikTok with a crying laughing emoji.

The video itself had a caption that read: “waking up to see i’m trending for the tyson v paul fight.”

The clip included an audio track that said: “Oh my god”.

“I woke up to an overwhelming amount of love and support from all of you.

“I can’t thank you guys enough or begin to express how grateful I am. I love you all — thank you for your kind words.”

In addition to Sydney - Virginia Sanhouse, Lexi Williams, Delia Sylvain and Raphaela Milagres also worked as ring girls at the event.

Netflix, which streamed the fight, announced that 60 million people tuned in to the bout, — and ticket sales surpassed $17.8 million.
