Bandit out to pinch Clifton Cup win

QUALITY cup field to line up t Clifton Jockey Club’s annual race-day meeting

Clifton Jockey Club is preparing to host its annual cup-day meeting tomorrow highlighted by the 2019 Clifton Cup.

RACING : In-form six-year-old De Bandit Vega will be out to add to home-town celebrations when he chases a Clifton feature win tomorrow.

De Bandit Vega lines up for Clifton trainer Kieran Kirwin in the Pacific Seeds/Pursehouse Rural Clifton Cup (1580m) where he’ll be partnered by claiming apprentice Josh Morrow.

The Benchmark 60 Cup headlines Clifton Jockey Club’s annual race day where five races start at 1.43.

The $10,000 Cup has drawn a quality 10-horse field headed in weights by Just Favulous for Toowoomba trainer Ducky Baker and the Jackie Crompton-trained Tara Cup winner Ritchford.

Just Favulous is also a Clifford Park acceptor tomorrow.

# TOMORROW night’s Clifford Park meeting includes the clash of last-start winners Pieridae and Shooting Love in a competitive Poindexters Punters Club Class 3 Plate (1210m).

Pieridae is coming off a slick 1000-metre Class 2 Clifford Park win for trainer Lindsay Hatch while the Mark Currie-trained Shooting Love broke through last start for a narrow Clifford Park Three-Year-Old Benchmark 65 (1110m) victory five weeks ago.
