Grammar Downlands Day easily ranks among Toowoomba’s greatest showpiece sporting and social events.
Drawing crowds of between 6-10,000 people from across the Darling Downs, Queensland and Australia – the event celebrates and honours a rugby rivalry dating back to 1931.
Since 2022 a new rivalry has also emerged with the Downlands and The Glennie School’s schoolgirl rugby sevens teams squaring off for the Selena Worsley Shield.
This year Downlands College played host to massive day with juniors teams kicking off at 8.30am.
Grammar were forced a to renowned with winning most of the day’s games including a commanding 44-15 in the O’Callaghan Cup.
Glennie were equally impressive winning all three shield games.
