Rosie Posie arrives for popular Warwick Cup victory.

BONNIE seven-year-old Rosie Posie ($3.60) served up another celebration for her connections and army of supporters when she raced to a game victory in today’s Warwick Credit Union Warwick Cup (1500m) at Allman Park.

The ghostly grey notched career victory number 10 with a half-length win over race leader Givus A Cuddle ($3.80) after a gem ride from Gary Geran.

Endless Days ($7.50) was a further half length back third.

Rosie Posie delivered Toowoomba trainer Matt Kropp his second Warwick Cup success after Kropp’s previous victory with Billy Goat while Geran had won the Allman Park feature previously on Bradfield.

The victory also brought to light a little-known piece of breeding nostalgia revealed post-race by owner Michael Kelly.

“This mare is a ninth descendant of the dam Entreaty who was the mother of Phar Lap,” Kelly said.

“It’s something I haven’t spoken about previously but I think it’s maybe worth a mention today.

“She is such a hard-trying mare.”

Geran had Rosie Posie poised to pounce at the top of the home straight where she unwound her customary finishing effort.

“She travelled nice throughout but when we straightened I thought I might have got to the leader a bit too soon,” Geran said.

“But she just kept putting me there and it was a really strong effort.”

Rosie Posie’s win capped a good day for the Kropp-Geran combination who also claimed the day’s second feature event with Super Suave ($8).

The six-year-old completed a good training effort when he resumed from a four-month spell to score a short-half head win over Abb Roy ($31) in the Fraser’s Livestock Transport Warwick Newmarket Benchmark 70 Handicap (1100m).

Super Suave is raced by a Brisbane group of owners including Rob Picking Jnr, whose father raced a number of horses including Novajinsky with former Toowoomba trainer Darryl Gollan.

“This horse won his first race start for us at the Sunshine Coast and we thought this might work out all right,” Kropp said.

“He’s by High Chaparral and we were thinking he might go on a make a nice stayer.

“But he’s remained a sprinter and has done a good job along the way.

“He’ll be improved by today’s run as well.

“He’s raced by a great group of owners who have made the trip here today.

“There is a group of Nudgee old boys in him and that might even be how I come to get the horse, being an old Nudgee boy myself.”

Toowoomba trainer Matt Boland added to his successful week when former Victorian gelding Mister Ward ($4.40) returned to the winner’s list in the Hutchison Quarries P/L Class 3 Plate (1350m).

Mister Ward clocked in with career win number three with a strong finish for apprentice Noriyuki Masuda to score narrowly.

The Boland stable win followed its success at Clifford Park the previous Sunday with Maiden winner Buzzer Beater.

Boland has a team of around 35 horses on his books.

Mister Ward is raced by Brisbane owner Trevor Wallace who is a strong Boland stable supporter.

The five-year-old joined Boland last season and today’s win was his second at Allman Park after breaking through at Clifford Park in February.

“He’s had a couple of issues we’re working through with him and it’s nice to see him winning again today for Trev Wallace who is one of my main owners,” Boland said.

Mister Ward and apprentice Noriyuki Masuda finish strongly on the outside to defeat Inkblot in today's Class 3 Plate at Allman Park.
