Cats star Tom Hawkins has once again been betrayed by his middle child on one of the biggest days of his footy career.

The two-time premiership winner from 2009 and 2011 claimed his third with three goals and four behind in the utter thrashing of the the Swans — and at 34-years-old may not have many more opportunities.

But Hawkins’ three-year-old daughter Primrose has once again told it like it is, burning her father on the morning of the Premiership decider.

Posting a video on Instagram on a walk before the game, Primrose destroyed her father, tipping the Swans to win over the Cats.

Coming across a copy of The Saturday Age with Jeremy Cameron and Buddy Franklin on the cover, Hawkins asked his daughter who was on the cover.

“Emu and … umm … Buddy,” she said.

Asked who she though was going to win, she finally said: “The Swans,” instantly breaking her father’s heart.

“Alright mate, this is where we part ways, see you at home,” he said to her, as she got a confused look on her face.

One fan tweeted: “Yesterday during the parade hawkins’ daughter was trying to climb on top of the car (while it was moving). No wonder tom was letting her do it, her favourite player is bont and now she’s just said the swans will win today”.

Another added: “LMFOA HAWKINS STORY WITH HIS DAUGHTER”.

Luckily for Hawkins, his three-year-old didn’t have a crystal ball as the Cats ended the 11-year drought.

Maybe it’s a middle child thing however, as it’s not the first time she's shown her father that he’s not the centre of the AFL world, despite being named All-Australian captain last year.

In 2021, Hawkins posted a photo of Primrose clutching a cuddly, soft toy made in the likeness of her favourite player — Western Bulldogs superstar Marcus Bontempelli.

“Doing the hair can wait. As long as Mim’s got her three B’s in the morning,” he wrote at the time. “bunny. bluey. bont.”

It would have hurt even more if the Cats had been able to beat Melbourne in the preliminary final, as Geelong would have played the Bulldogs for the Cup.
