Rory Lobb pops question to Lexi Mary with massive engagement ring

Western Bulldogs star Rory Lobb popped the question to his partner with fans left gobsmacked by the size of the engagement ring.

Western Bulldogs star Rory Lobb has left jaws on the floor after popping the question to his partner Lexi Mary.

Lobb got down on one knee on Saturday night with Mary saying yes as they soaked up the sunset in style in the Maldives.

The star forward went all out for the occasion with Instagram uploads showing off a private setup on the beach with a big love heart in the sand surrounding their table.

The shared Instagram post, simply captioned 11/11, received a massive amount of support from teammates along with fans and partners of players.

Fremantle’s Josh Treacy wrote: “Congrats (bout time Rory).”

Former Bulldogs teammate Hayden Crozier posted: “Legends!”

Current teammate Jamarrah Ugle-Hagan wrote: “F***nnn Rory Lobb.”

Jeremy Cameron’s partner Indiana Putra wrote: “Congratulations, enjoy lovers.”

But it was the sheer size of the rock planted on Mary’s left hand that left social media users in disbelief.

“Oh my that ring, congratulations beautiful,” another said.

“Wowee that’s a doozy,” another added.

The moment after Lexi said yes.

Lobb joined the Western Bulldogs ahead of the 2023 season following a tumultuous exit from Fremantle after four seasons.

His first game against his old side turned ugly when he was mobbed by the Dockers throughout the contest at Optus Stadium.

He was slung to the ground and heavily bumped before the first siren while a few stoushes erupted during the game.

But it was Lobb who had the last laugh as the Dogs secured a monster 49-point win.

The star’s engagement comes days after Channel 7 presenter Abbey Holmes had her dream wedding after three long years of waiting.

The former AFLW premiership winner married her former AFL player partner Keegan Brooksby in a star-studded ceremony in the Northern Territory.

The pair were engaged back in 2020, sharing photos of the moment when Brooksby got down on one knee at Uluru.

Three years on, the pair finally tied the knot, choosing the Northern Territory for their big day because it holds a special connection for them after their engagement and Holmes’ connection with the territory.

“Mr & Mrs 6.11.23 — The perfect day with the most perfect person in the Heart of Australia. #WeDoInUluru,” the pair posted on their Instagram pages.
