Toowoomba residents will get a chance to look inside one of the city’s most famous landmarks this weekend at a special open house.
The iconic Vacy Hall has returned to the market through RealWay Property Partners, having been previously for sale through LJ Hooker.
Lead agent Cooper Watson said the 19th-century property, designed and built by legendary architect James Marks for Gilbert Gostwyck Cory and now operating as a boutique hotel, would be opened to prospective buyers on Saturday from 11am.
“It’s the first time people can actually have a look through, and it could be one of the last times too,” he said.
Mr Watson said owner Graham Higgins was open to all reasonable offers, adding there was view of converting it back into a home.
“We’ve had some work done on the floor plan to show how you can use it as a home,” he said.
“Because it’s currently a hotel, everything is mint, the electrics, the plumbing — it’s got ducted heating and a restored roof.
“Normally you would spend $400,000 to bring a house like this up to scratch, but all the ground work is being maintained.”
