A seven-bedroom manor in one of Toowoomba’s richest suburbs could sell for more than $5m, according to its listing agent.
Oak Hill House, a three-storey manor on McAdam Court in Middle Ridge, has hit the market for the first time in its 35-year history through high-end agency Ecology Property.
The Georgian-era property on more than 4000 sqm of land, built in 1989 by Ron Gilbert Homes, includes French oak, marble and hardwood floors, American walnut cabinetry, Ralph Lauren wall textiles in its design.
The home also includes a tennis court, Miele cooking appliances, marble fireplaces, a pool room and private pool.
Lead agent Matt De Maid said manor, which had been influenced by American architecture, was unlike any property he’d listed for sale.
“It’d be right up there, it will be among the best in Toowoomba,” he said.
“Where it sits in the scope of things (for price) is unknown, but it’s certainly one of most impressive homes I’ve seen.
“The interesting thing is if you are a couple, you could comfortably live downstairs, it’s got everything there, but it would take a substantial-sized family as well.
“It’s a Georgian-style home, a lot of American influence.
“You’ve got all the charm of a character home in Toowoomba – you don’t see many homes with a brick construction like this.”
While there is no exact sale figure right now, Mr De Maid said he expected it to clear the $4.925m price for Fletcher Street in Redwood last year, which was a Toowoomba record at the time.
There’s definitely a chance, it depends on the buyer (but) this will go above Fletcher Street, we’re hoping,” he said.
“We’ve had it online for a week and there have been some local business people inquiring, and some people upsizing.
“There’s also been some interest from people on the Gold Coast.”
The expressions of interest period ends on August 13.
