Toowoomba CBD’s National Hotel on Russell Street for sale with price tag of $2.5m

It’s one of the most recognisable pubs in the Toowoomba CBD, which has been under long-term ownership. Now it’s hit the market with a hefty price tag.

One of the most famous pubs in the Toowoomba CBD has hit the market and could be sold for the first time in 16 years.

Russell Street’s National Hotel has been listed for sale as a freehold going concern through broker Hospitality Consultants and Sales for $2.5m.

The popular and longstanding watering hole features a casual bar, restaurant and gaming facilities as well as 15 short-term accommodation rooms across two storeys.

“This is an opportunity to acquire the freehold of a low-key inn, within three minutes of the Toowoomba railway station,” agent P Laurence Crowley said in the online listing.

According to RP Data, the property has been held by the existing owner since 2006, when it was sold for $643,000.

While the hotel has been the victim of flood events over the past decade, Russell Street has undergone millions in streetscape improvements by the Toowoomba Regional Council.
