A residential property on the fringe of the Toowoomba CBD will go under the hammer for the first time in three decades and it’s already attracting a wide variety of buyers.
The four-bedroom, two-storey home on Russell Street will go up for auction through Webster Cavanagh on July 16.
It sits on more than 2000 sqm of land and features an extensive backyard improved by a pool and garage.
Lead agent Grant Nissan said while the home could easily suit a family or couple, a number of inquiries had come from commercial operators looking at it for offices.
“It sits in the office precinct, so it does lend itself to that — I spoke to council and Precinct Urban Planning and they were positive about that use,” he said.
“It’s a unique opportunity because there’s not a lot of properties like that on a 2000 sqm block.
“We have interest from people looking at that from an office perspective.
“The way council works out carparking is you could do an extension out the back and you could house those cars.
“It is a neighbourhood character home, so you’ve got to preserve the front.”
Mr Nissan said he had even received interest from gardeners and builders.
“Business owners are looking at it, and people are looking at it for a residential home,” he said.
“Avid gardeners as well — you’d be surprised, you go there and because it’s offices on either side it’s so quiet and private, you’ve got no neighbours after 5pm.
“Builders as well, because they could have their shed out the back for their vehicles, so it’s appealing to a wide variety.”
The auction will be held on-site from 11am.
