The penthouse suite crowning Brisbane’s swanky Emporium Hotel has hit the market for the first time ever with a $30m price tag, which will shatter the current record sale price if it fetches that figure.
Priced at $15,000 a night on average, the 891 sqm suite on the 21st floor of the South Bank hotel has hosted Hollywood celebrities and international pop stars due to its level of luxury and privacy.

One of Australia’s largest penthouses, the property boasts four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a 15m infinity pool, a six-car garage, private lift access, a 5000-plus bottle wine cellar, and sweeping views over South Bank Parklands, the Brisbane River and the city.

The best part is that it comes with full five-star-hotel service, including a concierge, housekeeping, dog walking, car washing, room service, in-room massage services, a personal chef, and champagne — or whatever you fancy — served by the pool.
Brisbane’s residential sale price record was smashed in May when a riverfront mansion at 101 Welsby St, New Farm, fetched $20.5m, but the agents behind this property are expecting much more.
The Emporium Hotel South Bank was completed in 2018 at a cost of $600m by Anthony John Group and includes 143 suites and 91 private residences plus the unrivalled penthouse.
Bryce O’Connor and Philip Rand of YPM Group have been appointed to market the penthouse via an expressions of interest campaign on behalf of hotel and apartment moguls Tony and Francine John.
“The current owners have held the property since completion and feel now is the right time to sell the property,” Mr Rand said.
“The timing is fitting with the maturity of the prestige real estate market in Brisbane.
“If someone’s genuinely looking for the best real estate in Brisbane, this is it.”
Mr O’Connor said he expected the penthouse to attract international buyer attention with its luxury living and design, and the increasing demand for high-end apartments in Brisbane.
“This penthouse brings with it all the trimmings of a five-star luxury hotel with unprecedented lifestyle additions that rival those enjoyed by the upper echelon in international cities like New York and Hong Kong,” Mr O’Connor said.
“The service offering that comes with this penthouse allows its owners to be waited on at a level just not available anywhere else in Queensland and arguably in Australia.
“The inner-ring of Brisbane is a sought-after commodity as couples and families realise that
a backyard is not essential when the surrounding city itself provides the playground, and that
is particularly true at South Bank.
“South Bank itself has no new land available for new apartment buildings and due to the
South Bank Corporation Act, the views will never be built out making this penthouse a rare
treasure in a growth luxury space.”
The penthouse faces north and east with an 82m frontage and a huge, outdoor space with adjoining billiard/entertainment room and bar.
Secret doors section off compartments to the main open plan living, dining and kitchen hub creating discreet spaces for guests.
The commercial-grade kitchen features Gaggenau and Subzero appliances and a Calacatta marble island bench.
There are three living areas, an executive office, a private bar with a Vintec wine fridge, and an outdoor kitchen.
The massive master bedroom has a stand-alone bath with views over the pool and out towards the river and city, and a drop-down TV.
