An opulent mansion on a massive 1.01ha block has been listed for $25m – a price that would make it the most expensive home ever sold in the Queensland capital.
The sprawling estate – which contains a lavish five bedroom, five bathroom house, a pool house with three-lane 25m pool, spa, cold plunge, championship floodlit tennis court and stunning manicured gardens – is just two doors down from the most expensive home sold in Brisbane in 2022, 673 Musgrave Road which fetched $17.25m.

Brisbane’s current house price record was set in April at 101 Welsby Street, New Farm – a historic home that sold for $20.5m.
The $25m estate which expects to smash that price out of the water is at 685 Musgrave Road, Robertson, co-listed by Place Ascot’s Patrick McKinnon and Drew Davies.
“We’re looking for interest around circa $25m,” Mr McKinnon said. “We had it sold for around $25m. That contract has fallen through and we’re looking at negotiations around that number. If anyone’s interested give us a call.”
He said the home was made for an A-list lifestyle with a grand layout and no expensive spared on features.
“It’s insane, you could be in Miami, you could be anywhere,” Mr McKinnon said, with even the water fountains in the manicured artistic gardens controlled by bluetooth.
“To experience the sheer magnificence of this most exclusive residence is a privilege bestowed to a fortunate few.”
It’s understood a Chinese buyer had made an offer of around $24.8m for the mansion, but then had to back out of the deal due to difficulties getting his funds out of China.
Mr McKinnon was confident the home would break Greater Brisbane’s record home price.
He said they had multiple offers well over $20m, with most of the interest now coming from Sydney as well as a few Brisbane locals.
“It’s a huge block of land and it is subdividable as well. It’s the land that’s of great value to someone who can potentially split it as well. You could do anything with it, a whole bunch of lots, cut off the back where the tennis court and pool are, you could do so many things.”
The feedback from inspections conducted at the home was good, with several buyers exploring upgrades.
“They love it. It’s just a unique kind of property. They’re looking to actually add value to it. There are a couple of people who are keen to do some renovations. You can add so much more value to modernise the interior so that’s the thought process of people getting their heads around doing that.”

The mansion has soaring ceilings, a double height entry void, bespoke chandeliers, wide use of marble, multiple living and dining zones, a large kitchen kitted out for professional chefs, dual offices, a home theatre, entertainment terraces, and alfresco dining.
Every bedroom has a lounge or study-office area, and the master suite is connected via a walk-through robe to the third bedroom, “making it ideal to keep watch over the children”.
The pool house has ‘his and her’ bathrooms with double showers as well as kitchen facilities, and the estate also has three dedicated study-home office spaces, a dedicated prayer room, designated storage areas, alarm and video security surveillance, and double automatic garage with additional secure parking spaces.
The property is for sale via private treaty.
