A YOUNG who family lined up for Christmas photos with Santa at Grand Central got a jolly good surprise at the weekend.

A YOUNG family who lined up for Christmas photos with Santa at Grand Central got a jolly good surprise at the weekend.
Paul Brown and his daughter Lily were among a huge crowd on Saturday.
After his daughter's photo was taken he went to pay.
That's when he was told a mother lined up in front had already paid for it.
Thinking there had been some sort of mistake he approached her and asked her about it.
She said she had done it "because it's Christmas".
Mr Brown said it was a lovely thing to do.
"I didn't ask her name, but whoever you are, if you're there, thanks again," he said.
"It's so good to see nice people out there doing nice things."
Mr Brown said he would now endeavour to "pay it forward" and do nice things for other random strangers.
"In fact with all of the bad stuff going on in the world right now, wouldn't it be great if we all did something nice for others this holiday season? Spread some happiness and good cheer simply because we can," he said.
The Chronicle searched and found the kind mother responsible for the generous act, Ms Tiffany Dibben.
She said: "I did it to see happiness on someone else's face at a time of giving. Not for recognition or to be thanked but to show society that there is still hope."
Ms Dibben said she was going through some hard times but wanted to bring some passivity to someone else's life.
"Whether the person be wealthy or poor to see a smile across their face and brighten their day or bring faith back into humanity then that's what I will strive to do.
Woolworths Wilsonton worker Steph Murray also witnessed an act of kindness this festive season.
"I was serving a customer and I was putting an old man's groceries through," she said.
"A random lady came over handed me $50 and said 'I'd like to pay this off the man's groceries' and walked away.
"I thought maybe she had known him after giving him a hug, and a kiss on the cheek, but once she had left he said 'who was that, that was very nice'.
"I was shocked.
"There are so many lovely people out there."
