Up until a few months ago 143 Holberton St was an old, out-dated Queenslander that was crying out for a renovation.

A young couple bought the property, with the goal of giving it new life.

And looking at the most recent photos of the home, they succeeded.

York Realty real estate agent John Rizqallah said people in Toowoomba loved renovated character cottages.

"We are seeing more and more of these style homes in town," he said.

"There is definitely a big market for it because Toowoomba has such a rich history and people are just going gaga for them.

"Of course there are always people who will want the brand new contemporary homes but the renovated properties are becoming more sought after as long as they are done right.

"The owner is builder and made sure everything was done immaculately and his partner helped out as well, they worked together as a great team."

The home went from drab and lifeless to stylish and charming.

Mr Rizqallah has lived in Newtown for more than a decade and as a real estate agent has seen the inside of many, many Toowoomba homes and said this was one of the best renovated houses he had seen.
