Risdon Cup final
CHEER the Toowoomba Rangers on when they take on the Goondiwindi Emus in the Risdon Cup grand final.
Kicking off from 11am, games will run throughout the day at Clive Berghofer Stadium, on Saturday.
The A-grade final starts at 3.30pm.
General admission for adults is $15 and children under 16 are free.

Art trail
EXPLORE the InStudio’s art trail in the high country this weekend.
Hosted by Crows Nest Community Arts and Crafts Inc, the
Running from 10am to 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday, those taking part in the trail features 35 artists, across 30 locations, from Crows Nest through to Highfields.
The event offers an insight into the works, stories and processes of participating artists.
Creatives and artists will be opening up the doors to their studios and exhibition spaces over four weekends, during the month of August.
The event is made possible by funding received from the Crows Nest and Highfields Community Bank and TRC.

Cook up a curry
SPICE up your life with a curry cooking workshop.
Malwai Kitchen at Highfields Village Shopping Centre, has teamed up with Foodie Shots to bring the flavours of Indian and Thai cuisine to the region.
Chef Stephen Simon will teach participants how to cut vegetables and make a variety of pastes, rubs, spice mixes and curries at home.
Vegetarian curries will also be cooked.
Attendees will sit down to enjoy an aromatic lunch featuring Thai green and chickpea curries, fresh naan and rice.
They will also leave the event with the seventh series of Foodie Shots recipe cards so they can recreate the meals for loved ones.
The workshop will run from 10am to 2pm on Sunday.
Tickets are $197 and the event is limited to 20 people.

Hosted by Toowoomba Boardgamers, the monthly meet is a social way for members of the community to connect over games.
Players of all skill levels are welcome to attend but adult supervision is required for anyone under 18-years-old.
The meet will be held at Battlestation Toowoomba, at 411 Ruthven St and starts at midday on Sunday.

M&M themed party
WEAR your brightest colours to an M&M themed party at the Tatts Hotel on Saturday night.
Starting from 9pm, three guest DJs Madison, Maarv and Sourjaboii will be playing beats all night, but the fun doesn’t stop there.
Delicious M&M cocktails will also be available for patrons to enjoy.
Street salsa
BRING the saucy heat to the streets on Saturday by joining in on a fun and social dance movement.
Street Salsa Toowoomba is holding its park jamming sessions from 1pm to 3pm in Queens Park.
All dancing experience levels are welcome with the first 30 minutes dedicated to introducing beginners into the class.
The session will consist of a mix of LA and Cuban Style Salsa, as well as dance styles Merengue and Bachata.
Maker’s Market
BROWSE the amazing handmade creations at more than 60 market stalls.
The Makers Market is returning to the Mills Precinct on Sunday from 9am.
Food trucks will be operating on the day and musician Victoria Q will be performing live.
Basketball come and try day
PUT your skills to the test with a basketball come and try day at Walton Stores.
Watch the Tokyo Olympics on the big screen at Walton Stores before shooting hoops with one of the Queensland Basketball League’s all-time greats Pop Dickerson.
Presented by Westpac, the event starts at midday on Sunday.
Craft beer festival
ENJOY some refreshing brews at the Independent Craft Beer Festival on Saturday.
Showcasing beer from five independent breweries, Blue Bird Kitchen and Smokehouse, Hot Slice Woodfired Pizza and the Popup Chef will also be serving food on the day.
Entry is a gold coin donation with proceeds raised going to The Endeavour Foundation.
Starting from midday, the festival is at Volcanic Brewing at 161 James St.
