North Queensland received more large rainfall amounts overnight, with flood warnings issued and roads once again being covered by water.
While rain is set to continue for the rest of the week the intensity of the rainfall levels will decrease, with some showers expected for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
146mm of rain was recored in the 24 hours up to 9am Friday morning at Rooneys Bridge, with 129mm recorded at Annandale, 107mm at The Lakes, 100mm at North Ward, 94mm at Black Weir and 94mm at Picnic Bay.
Emergency services were called to assist two people stuck in a vehicle in floodwaters at Oonoonba on Thursday evening.
The Queensland Fire Department advised they were called just after 10pm to assist two people in Abbott Street.
The two occupants were able to get themselves out of the vehicle and were not injured.
The right lane of Nathan Street at Heatley was blocked as of 8pm Thursday evening, as well as Allambie Lane in Rasmussen and Glendale Drive in Annandale.
A minor flood warning was issued for the Ross and Bohle Rivers at 4:46am on Friday morning, as a result of the heavy rain on Thursday evening.
The Bureau of Meteorology said Along the Ross River at Aplin Weir, the river level may remain near the minor flood level during Friday morning.
The river near Aplin Weir peaked at 1.16m on Thursday evening with minor flooding occurring.
Minor flooding is estimated to be occurring along the Bohle River at Mt Bohle.
No recent observations are available at Mt Bohle, however the river level is estimated to be above the minor flood level (4.00 metres), and rising.
A major flood warning was issued for the Herbert River at 9:38pm on Thursday night.
Major flooding occurred at Halifax, and minor flooding at the Abergowie Bridge, Ingham Pump Station and Gairloch.
The Bureau of Meteorology advised heavy rainfall that began on Wednesday afternoon caused water levels to rise at the Herbert River, with the heaviest falls concentrated on the lower part of the catchment.
