Weekend crashes cause chaos on the Warrego

TRAFFIC on the Warrego Hwy was brought to a standstill at the weekend with seven crashes occurring within a few hours.

TRAFFIC on the Warrego Hwy was brought to a standstill on Saturday with seven crashes occurring within a few hours.

Police reported that between 9am and 2pm a series of crashes involving traffic in both directions occurred between Blacksoil and Dinmore.

The most serious occurred about 9.45am when a west-bound refrigerated semi-trailer ran off the highway after the Fernvale Rd exit.

The driver lost control of his vehicle, which came off the highway at speed and crashed into the table drain.

Despite the number of crashes during the day no serious injuries were reported. The wet weather was blamed for many of the crashes.
