THIS year was all about earthworks, local road upgrades and building bridges on the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing.
Nexus has created a highlight reel to look back on the year that was.
Here is a timeline of the work on the $1.6 billion project:
- January: Start of precast deliveries
- February: Launching truss gantry delivered to the viaduct
- March: First Super T deliveries for the viaduct
- April: Start of project landscaping
- May: First Super T launches in viaduct
- June: McNamara Rd underpass complete, Boundary St bridge complete
- July: Paynters Rd underpass complete, Boundary St local road works complete and bridge to open to traffic, Mort St local road works complete and open to traffic
- August: Mort St interchange deck unit installation started, central zone landscaping started, second span of viaduct started
- September: Rocky (Gatton Creek bridge complete, pilling for all structures complete
- October: Gittins Rd underpass complete, bridge over Gowrie Junction Rd complete
- November: Ganzer Rd local road works complete and open to traffic
- December: Fifth span of viaduct complete
