SMALL business owner passes support down the supply chain after being awarded government grant.

A TOOWOOMBA small business owner is encouraging consumers to think local and buy local.

Vonnie Meier of Von-Katz Soaps and Gift Baskets said residents needed to do everything possible to ensure the survival of small businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Von-Katz Soaps are set to feature internationally after being awarded a grant by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through the National Bushfire Recovery Agency.

Ms Meier used a local shipping company and a local graphic designer in her winning quote.

"That doesn't just give me job, that gives two local businesses a job as well. So, it goes down the line," she said.
