THE remnants of Cyclone Debbie has been felt as far west as Roma which remains cut off to the west from Mitchell this afternoon due to water across the Warrego Hwy.
Officer in Charge of Roma Police Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said in excess of 70mm of rain had fallen on the Roma district from the early hours of today with more expected.
"We've had some localised flooding which has caused some drainage issues with water in gullies and low lying streets," he said.
"Local traffic is fine but people travelling west from Roma won't reach Mitchell as the highway is cut at Cattle Creek.
"At the moment the highway from Roma to Mitchell is closed and will probably remain so for the rest of the day.
"The situation is being monitored by emergency services who will decided when the highway will open again."
Roma streets which had sustained minor flooding included Miscamble St as well as Corfe Rd, Charles St south, and Mayne, Lovell and Feather streets.
Snr Sgt Frank reminded motorists to drive to conditions and not drive through water across the road.
"Remember, if it's flooded forget it," he said.
