THE Wagner family has been named the 22nd richest family in Australia by industry bible Business Review Weekly.
The magazine has estimated the Toowoomba-based family is worth $540 million.
Wagners are the only family-owned and operated concrete producer in the state.
In 2011, Boral Limited announced it has reached an agreement to acquire certain construction materials assets and operations of the Wagners Group for $173 million.
Last year, the Wagners Group announced plans to construct a multi-million dollar jet capable airport facility at Wellcamp, west of Toowoomba.
Once completed it will be the first public airport to be built from scratch since Tullamarine in Melbourne back in 1960s, and Australia's first privately built airport.
