UPDATE: Fire has destroyed a Stonestreet's Coaches bus near Helidon on the Warrego Hwy.

The bus has been completely destroyed.

Both eastbound lanes at the scene of the fire are closed. Diversions are in place but long delays are expected for motorists.

There were about 20 passengers on the bus when it went up in flames.

The bus destroyed by fire on the Warrego Hwy just east of Toowoomba.

One person was reportedly injured in the blaze.

2.30PM: A bus has burst into flames on the Warrego Highway near the Helidon Spa east of Toowoomba.

Emergency services have arrived at the scene to find the bus "fully engulfed".

The bus is located in the eastbound lanes near the Helendale Dr intersection.

Both eastbound lanes are closed.

Up to 20 passengers were evacuated from this bus when it burst into flames on the Warrego Hwy just east of Toowoomba.

There are reports that one of the passengers has suffered burns to their face.

The fire was reported at 2.15pm.
