Five hotspots where Victorians are reporting UFO sightings

Bombshell revelations in the US have sent local UFO enthusiasts into a spin. These are the Victorian suburbs where residents say they have seen extraterrestrial activity.

Bombshell revelations from the United States claiming extraterrestrial life exists on Earth have sent Victorian UFO enthusiasts into a spin, with dozens of videos emerging in recent weeks of possible local sightings.

Late last month, a former intelligence official declared under oath the US government allegedly discovered then concealed evidence of “intact and not intact” unidentified flying objects and biological remains of “non-human” origin.

Two former members of the US Navy also provided witness accounts claiming they had personal experiences dealing with, or sighting, foreign spacecraft while on the job.

The accounts were made at a House of Representatives hearing about UFOs and follows Congress holding two other hearings on the subject in the last two years.

UFOs or UAPs – unidentified anomalous phenomenon – are defined as any aerial object or optical phenomenon that cannot be immediately identified.

While most observations later turned out to be planes, drones, the reflection of light shows or — in the rare case — spy balloons, other sightings are just a sheer mystery.

Since the whistleblower allegations emerged in the US, some Melburnians have become fascinated by potential extraterrestrial spacecraft sightings, taking to social media to share videos or personal accounts of what they have observed.

These sightings span the state, varying from shadows in the night sky to random flashes of light.

These are the five suburbs across the state where Victorians are claiming they’ve spotted alien activity.

Clayton South

About three days ago, a Melbourne parent and their 10-year-old daughter took to social media to share they saw three large circular lights in a triangle formation travelling “very slowly” for a few seconds before it disappeared.

“I’m still shaking as I have been so obsessed with UAPs and (have) been thinking about it and looking up (at the sky) all the time,” the parent wrote.

This apparent sighting occurred in the same suburb as one of Melbourne’s most renowned UFO observations, which occurred in April 1966.

Otherwise known as the Westall UFO, more than 200 students and staff claimed they witnessed up to three unidentified flying objects above Westall State School.

Geelong

Random flashing lights in the night sky gave some regional Melburnians reason to believe a UFO was circulating in the airspace above the regional city.

“They slowly kept moving and disappearing and then becoming really bright again,” one observer posted online on Thursday.

Some were sceptical of the sighting with suggestions it was potentially the lights on a construction crane or a plane.

Meanwhile, in May, another Geelong local recorded seeing a blue and white flashing light that randomly changed sizes.

However, not all were convinced and some argued it was a view of a planet or the moon.

Fitzroy

A resident of the inner-city Melbourne suburb claims he saw a spacecraft “circling and doing formations” while looking out the window of his apartment on Sunday night.

The sighting occurred between 8.20pm and 8.50pm, with the resident suggesting they also saw “orb lights”.

A separate sighting of “flashing lights” in the suburb was reported in May, in the airspace above the suburb’s Atherton reserve.

Narre Warren

The southeast Melbourne suburb has been home to several possible spacecraft sightings across several decades, with former Sunrise weatherman Grant Denyer even reporting he believes he saw a UFO.

The media personality was just 19 when he noticed some “very strange lights in the sky” which he said were too bright to be an astronomical body.

Denyer shared his experience with investigative journalist Ross Coulthart in 2021, where he explained the object he saw wasn’t moving.

Meanwhile, a more recent observation occurred in September 2020, with one Australian reporting “very strange movements” in the night sky.

Drouin

About an hour away, in the southeast town of Drouin, a couple driving down a hill reported seeing a random flashing light on Thursday night.

As they drove towards it, they claimed it appeared to get smaller before a second light appeared before both disappeared some time later.

The same night, another person captured a blurry object in the same area, which they claimed had a green and red flashing light.
