The rodeo community is mourning the loss of a young cowboy who tragically died in a car crash in the Darling Downs.

Friends of 20-year-old Kyle Moss have come out in support for the young man’s family, fundraising more than $2000 in 24 hours.

Tributes have flown for the bull rider, as friends in the rodeo community rally to honour Kyle during round two of the National Finals Rodeo in Canungra on November 30.

Organiser of the fundraiser and friend Cheyenne Mundey said the talented young rider’s kindness would never be forgotten.

Ms Mundey said while bull riding is quite competitive, it didn’t influence the mateship between riders.

“You’ll always help your mate on and Kyle would always jump in to help the next rider on,” she said.

“He was very kind and passionate about bull riding. He was the type of person who never walked past someone without having a chat.”

Ms Mundey said Kyle’s loss will leave a hole in the rodeo community.

Kyle, along with a group of other young up and coming riders, competed in the United States earlier this year.

In a post on social media by East Coast Images Queensland, a photographer for the National Rodeo Association, encouraged those attending the rodeo to wear blue on Saturday in Kyle’s honour.

Kyle was known for wearing a distinct blue riding shirt for good luck when competing.

“As most of us know by now, we unfortunately lost one of our beloved cowboys Kyle Moss on the weekend to a car accident. My heart is completely broken for Gaynor Leigh and Adam,” the post said.

“It was definitely not the news I was expecting to get Sunday evening, he was just a beautiful soul that was taken to soon and his contagious smile will be missed around the circuit.

“The Rodeo Community is organising to honour Kyle on Saturday at the finals by wearing blue and using the hashtag #kickoneforkyle.”
