Neville Joseph Creen alleged child abuse case scheduled for pre-trial hearing
The former North Queensland priest will apply to have a ‘judge-only’ trial among other applications before the case is to go ahead.

The defence team for a priest accused of historical child abuse and has lingered in the courts for a significant amount of time has asked for a pre-trial hearing date as the finalisation of the proceedings get closer.
Neville Joseph Creen who has been charged with indecent treatment of children had the alleged offence mentioned in Townsville District Court on Friday morning.
He’s not yet entered pleas.
Defence lawyer Jake Donn from Legal Aid Queensland asked for a pre-trial hearing date to be listed and told the court Mr Creen’s defence would be making an application to change the trial location and for it to be a judge-only trial.
It was only when crown prosecutor Andrew Walklate asked for the details of the applications that they were shared to the court, as the prosecutor explained he receives a lot of inquiries regarding the court proceedings from the alleged victims.
Judge Gregory Lynham scheduled the pre-trial hearing for July 28 in Townsville District Court, it’s expected to run for four hours.
