DNA evidence collected against a man accused of murdering his girlfriend and dumping her body in Bluewater, has finally been processed.
Damian James Carroll, 40, is accused of murdering Mackay woman Tania Lee Trickey and hiding her body in secluded outside Townsville in 2022 where it was discovered by a group of teenagers.
Carroll remains in prison as he awaits for his charges of murder to progress to trial.
In Townsville Magistrates Court on Friday, March 15, Carroll’s case was mentioned before Magistrate Ken Taylor.
Carroll is currently being represented by Legal Aid Queensland, and his matter was mentioned by solicitor Amelia Doolan.
The court heard DNA collected as part of the murder charge has finally been tested, and the Queensland Police Service were now just waiting on a statement.
A full brief of evidence is yet to be submitted for this case.
The case was adjourned to April 26, 9.30am.
