Zonta luncheon to help support city women

Here’s what you can expect from this year’s Zonta International Women’s Day Luncheon.

RESILIENCE: Breast cancer survivor and researcher Dr Eliza Whiteside will be the guest speaker at the Zonta Club’s Women’s Day Luncheon.

Resilience in a time of change is the theme of this year’s Zonta International Women’s Day Lunch to be held at the Picnic Point Panoramic Room on March 5.

The annual luncheon is a time of reflection and celebration, shining the spotlight on acts of courage and determination of ordinary women.

The luncheon includes a two-course lunch, a glass of bubbly and an interesting speech from Dr Eliza Whiteside.

Dr Whiteside will share her powerful story about her battles with stage 3 breast cancer at the age of 28 and how she now draws on her knowledge of resilience as a researcher in the industry.

Proceeds from the event will be given to the local YWCA, which provides housing and accommodation for women and their families, including emergency housing and student accommodation.
