Lauchlan Tucker: Young Toowoomba tradie pleads for help after workplace electric shock

A tradie from regional Queensland is facing the devastating prospect of losing both of his arms, after he was severely injured in a workplace incident. Here’s how you can help.

GoFundMe launched for William ‘Billy’ George Howlett’s funeral

A young Toowoomba family is pleading with the community for help after a young tradie and father was electrocuted in a horror workplace incident.

The incident left roofer Lauchlan Tucker with burns to 70 per cent of his body and facing the terrifying possibility of losing his arms.

While Lauchlan is facing a future of potential permanent disability, his young family is struggling with the growing costs of travelling to Brisbane for medical care.

His fiancee Charmayne Scott has organised a GoFundMe to help the young family cover expenses for travel between Toowoomba and Brisbane and accommodation for the family.

So far, the GoFundMe has received more than $4000 in donations.

Highfields Eagles senior rugby club president Peter Betros said Lauchlan had been highly involved in the club as a player and later as a volunteer.

“[Lauchlan]’s always there to support other people,” he said.

Mr Betros asks that the community “support someone who supports you.”
