Where to get Covid jab on Darling Downs: 12 schools to open their gate

With restrictions fast approaching, the State Government is rolling out another Super Saturday Covid vaccination blitz. Here are the 12 schools temporarily opening for the jab.

Queensland records two new local COVID-19 cases

Twelve schools across the Darling Downs will open their gates to provide the Covid-19 vaccination this weekend.

The schools, which stretch from Stanthorpe through to Murgon and many towns in between, will be mostly open Saturday, but some will open all weekend.

The schools that have been opened for vaccinations are deemed to be in areas with low uptake of the jab.

“There’s no need to make an appointment for our pop-up school clinics. Anyone aged 12 or over can just show up and get their first or second dose,” Education Minister Grace Grace said.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said more than 16,000 people were vaccinated across 116 schools at the last pop-up weekend.

“I want to see even more people take advantage of having a vaccination centre even closer to where they live,” she said.

Another Super Schools Weekend is expected on November 20 and 21, but the schools open for that weekend are yet to be confirmed.
