AS AUSTRALIA Day falls on a Sunday this year, many lucky people will enjoy an extended weekend with Monday given in lieu. But the question remains - what will be open?
The Chronicle has compiled a list of some of Toowoomba's business and food operators' opening times so you can grab a meal or head out for some shopping.
Woolworths and Coles across the city will be trading from 9am - 6pm both Sunday and Monday.
IGA at the Hooper Centre will trading its regular 6am - 10pm on both days.
If you are looking to grab a meal, restaurants in Walton Stores will be operating as normal on both Sunday and Monday as well.
Grand Central has confirmed it will be open for voluntary trade on Monday from 10am-4pm.
Grand Central ventre manager Claire Torkington said a wide variety of retailers would be open both Sunday and Monday.
"The centre will trade as normal from 10am-4pm on Sunday, and we'll be open for voluntary trade on Monday's public holiday from 10am-4pm," she said.
Individual retailer opening hours may vary on the public holiday.
BIG W and Target will both be open from 9am-5pm; Kmart, Woolworths and Coles from 9am-6pm; and Myer will be closed.
Stores open from 10am-4pm include H&M, Best & Less, Adairs, City Beach, Kathmandu, QBD, Rebel, Rivers and Toymate.
