Families across the region will gather to celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 8.

From markets and high teas, to picnics and workshops, there are plenty of events happening across the Toowoomba region.

Here are some of the ways you can treat and celebrate the special women in your life this weekend.

• Aberfeldy Barn:

Spend the day at the Aberfeldy Barn on Sunday when the venue holds its Mother’s Day markets from noon.

Grab a bite to eat, browse the various stalls on displays and enjoy the live entertainment.

The Aberfeldy Barn is at 124 Macaulay Rd, Westbrook.

• The Spotted Cow:

A special buffet breakfast will be held at the Spotted Cow at 296 Ruthven St, on Sunday, from 8am to 10am.

Hampers will be up for grabs, and the menu includes Danish pastries, croissants, fresh fruit, pancakes, smoked salmon and hot breakfast items.

The breakfast costs $34.90 for adults, $14.90 for kids aged five to 14 and free for children under five.

• DownsSteam:

Head over to the DownsSteam Tourist Railway and Museum on Sunday for a delicious hot breakfast.

The event will also include raffles, tours and live entertainment.

Entry for adults is $30 and children is $15.

• Club Toowoomba:

Treat mum to buffet breakfast at Club Toowoomba on Hume St, this Sunday, between 7.30am and 10am.

All mums will also receive a complimentary glass of champagne.

It costs $25 for adults and $9.90 for children under 12.

• Encores:

Enjoy freshly baked scones with preserves and cream, caramelised lemon curd tart and rosewater panna cotta, followed by the classic croque monsieur and petite open sandwiches at Encores this Mother’s Day.

The high tea at Encores Restaurant is $60 per person and includes a glass of prosecco or non-alcoholic fruit punch.

Starting at 1pm on Sunday, spaces are booking out quickly.

• The Rock

Tap into your creative side at The Rock’s top bar on Ruthven St.

Monet and Margaritas are holding a paint and sip session on Sunday, from 10am to 1pm.

Tickets are $85 per person and includes nibbles and a glass of champagne.

Musician Tiana Dennis will also be performing live at the venue.

• Queensland State Rose Garden:

Spend Sunday in the stunning scenery of the Queensland State Rose Garden, from 11am to 1pm.

Attendance is $5 per person and includes a sausage sizzle, drinks and a ticket for the lucky door prize.

Homemade slice will also be available to purchase for $1.

All money raised will be donated to the rose gardens.

• Heritage Estate Winery:

Musician Teri Welles and her band Jazzify will be performing their jazz tunes at the Heritage Estate Winery at 747 Granite Belt Drive, Cottonvale.

Enjoy a glass of wine on arrival, followed by platters and a delicious three-course meal.

The event will be held on Sunday, from noon to 4pm.

Tickets are $60 for a two-course meal or $75 for three courses.
