A trough over the western parts of the state will culminate in a wet start to the week for residents in Toowoomba, with showers and afternoon storms expected.
There is a 40 per cent chance of showers in the Garden City today, according to the Bureau of Meteorology forecast, with daytime temperatures expected to reach the low to mid 30s.
Here is the BOM forecast for the coming days:
Today: Partly cloudy. High (70%) chance of showers over the Granite Belt, medium (40%)
chance elsewhere. The chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening.
Light winds. Overnight temperatures falling to between 19 and 23 with daytime
temperatures reaching the low to mid 30s.
Tomorrow: Mostly sunny. Medium (40%) chance of showers over the Granite Belt,
most likely in the late afternoon and evening. Near zero chance of rain
elsewhere. The chance of a thunderstorm in the far east in the afternoon and
evening. Light winds becoming southeast to south-westerly 15 to 25 km/h in the
middle of the day then tending northeast to south-easterly 15 to 20 km/h in the
late evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 19 and 22 with daytime
temperatures reaching the mid to high 30s.
Wednesday: Hot. Partly cloudy. Medium (40%) chance of showers in the east, most likely in
the afternoon and evening. Near zero chance of rain elsewhere. The chance of a
thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening. Winds northeast to south-easterly 15
to 20 km/h tending southeast to south-westerly during the afternoon then tending
easterly 15 to 25 km/h during the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to
between 18 and 21 with daytime temperatures reaching 29 to 36.
Thursday: Partly cloudy. Slight (20%) chance of a shower. The chance of a thunderstorm in
the afternoon and evening. Winds easterly 15 to 25 km/h. Overnight temperatures
falling to between 16 and 20 with daytime temperatures reaching 28 to 33.
