Autumn Weather Outlook: La Nina climate driver set to continue

THE Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show is here, and it’s a beautiful sunny day to kick off the three day event.

In the past, the show hasn’t had much luck weatherwise with heavy rain putting a damper on things, but this year the forecast is mostly sunny.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, today is due to be a fine day with a minimum of 13 degrees and maximum of 26 degrees with light winds.

Temperatures drop off on Saturday with a minimum of 15 degrees and maximum of 20 degrees.

The day is set to be cloudy with a 50% chance of 1-8mm during the afternoon.

Sunday will again be sunny with a minimum of 11 degrees and maximum of 19 degrees.

The weather situation can be attributed to a high over the Tasman Sea which is extending a ridge along the coast and will be moving offshore later today with a new ridge strengthening in its wake over the weekend bringing that slightly cooler weather.
