Maddie Jesse of Gone Rogue Canine Services crowned best dog groomer

Toowoomba’s best dog groomer has been crowned! After only five years in the industry, this dog groomer has turned her obsession into a career path, which has continued to gain a strong client base across the Darling Downs. Details here.

Unlike mum or dad, Maddie Jesse’s first word was the name of the family dog.

From that uttered first word grew a lifelong obsession and career path that would recognise her as Toowoomba’s best dog groomer, as voted by the public.

Ms Jesse is the owner of Gone Rogue Canine Services, which she started in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

“I did hairdressing straight out of school, and I accidentally fell into a job opportunity as a dog groomer,” she said.

“I always thought it was more of a hobby, not a job.

“I love what I do and all of my clients are so lovely … to be chosen is so surreal.”

Operating out of her home, Ms Jesse said her “happy zone” was working with the dogs other groomers may not be able to handle.

“The larger breed or the dogs with aggressive tendencies … that’s where I shine. That’s my niche,” she said.

“I can handle the one’s nobody else can do or wants to do.

“Once word got out … (the business) boomed from there.

“Owners know I take their dogs on as if they’re my own, and while they’re here, they’re my dogs.

“I relinquish my parental responsibilities when they get picked up.”
