A VACANT lot on North St has been earmarked for development into a service station and self storage warehouse.

A development application has been lodged with Toowoomba Regional Council for the site, which is situated on the corner of North and Mort Sts.

The proposal involves the establishment of a service station and warehouse, and the site will be subdivided and each use will be located on a standard format lot, documents said.

The four-stage development will in the first stage include a service station with four refuelling islands, a control building with a floor area of 190 sq m, a service bay, 14 carparking spaces, and associated advertising devices.

Stages two to four involve the establishment of the warehouse/self storage facility, which will include 321 storage units with a combined 5481 sq m, ten car parks, and an ancillary office.

Stage two will feature 177 units, the office and carparking areas, stage three will include a further 87 units and stage four a further 57 units.

The development is code assessable.
