Toowoomba traffic: Rider killed after motorbike and truck collide

Police have released more details on a horror crash between a motorbike and a truck on the outskirts of Toowoomba, which led to the death of a 49-year-old.

A motorbike rider was killed after a crash on Bridge Street outside Toowoomba on Wednesday, June 21.

A 49-year-old male motorbike rider is dead following a horrific collision on the outskirts of Toowoomba.

A rider and a truck collided on the corner of Nugent Pinch Road and Bridge Street at Cotswold about 5.20am Wednesday.

Initial investigations suggest both vehicles were travelling westbound when the crash occurred.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics assessed the rider for critical injuries.

He later died on the scene, while the truck driver was uninjured.

Bridge Street initially closed to westbound traffic, where the crash occurred.

It has since been reopened.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating, and is asking anyone with information or dashcam vision to come forward.
