A TOOWOOMBA real estate agency has put forward plans for an expansion of its office space.
RealWay Toowoomba submitted the proposal to the council last week for the extension to its base on the intersection of Campbell and Ruthven Sts in Toowoomba City.
According to the report by Precinct Urban Planning, the expansion would increase the number of office spaces and add a disability-capable toilet.
“The subject site is currently improved by a shopfront dwelling house, with the shop portion of the site currently used for an ‘office’ use,” the report said.
“The proposal involves an expansion of the ‘office’ use into the remainder of the building.
“The internal layout of the building will include a reception area, two meeting rooms, two general office areas, four ‘cub’ offices, an office for the principal agent, kitchenette and amenities.
“The proposal involves an increase in the ‘office’ use of 102 sqm GFA, resulting in an overall GFA of 194 sqm.
“Aside from the minor alteration to the rear of the building, the proposal does not involve amendments to the external facade of the building.”
The application also included reports into stormwater and traffic management.
RealWay principal Cooper Watson, who recently was voted Toowoomba’s best real estate agent by The Chronicle readership, said he planned to start hiring more staff.
The council has yet to respond with requests for further information.
