Toowoomba pub introduces mega parmi challenge

A Toowoomba hotel has introduced a mega parmi challenge to its menu, and if contenders can wipe their plate clean in 30 minutes they’re awarded a jug of beer.

A Toowoomba hotel is giving patrons the chance to tackle a mega parmi challenge.

The Hotel Norville has introduced the Noah Arc to its menu, which includes 300g crumbed chicken breast, 200g pork schnitzel, 200g crumbed steak loaded with half an avocado, fresh salsa, mozzarella sticks, bacon, sour cream served on shoe string fries.

The challenge will set customers back $49 and they must finish the entire meal in 30 minutes or less.

Owner Grace Lindsay said she was surprised with how well it had taken off.

“A lot of people look at it online and are certain they can knock it over in the time frame but when its comes down to it most people can’t eat any more after 15 minutes,” she said.

“People have been coming out of the woodwork to try it, with the whole beer garden getting around the person who is trying to beat the parmi.

“It’s true Australian spirit to convince a buddy to try and knock down a huge parmi for a free beer.

“We are sitting at about a 20 per cent success rate for contenders and if they don’t get stuck it straight away then they don’t stand a chance.”

The time to beat is 9 minutes and 9 seconds which was set by Brett King.

If a patron completes the challenge successfully they get a free jug of Great Northern Original or Supercrisp.

Walk-ins are welcome but bookings are preferred during busy period.
