Fairholme College’s senior formal is yet another anticipated Toowoomba event that will have to take a back seat due to the COVID-19 lockdown in Greater Brisbane.
A recent statement from a Fairholme media spokeswoman said “within the context of the Greater Brisbane COVID-19 lockdown and its broader implications across Queensland, we are postponing the Fairholme Senior Formal scheduled for Wednesday, 31 March.”
Fairholme College principal Linda Evans said the school was heeding the directions from the Queensland government.
“As we are aware, directives of Government take precedence in decision-making,” Dr Evans said.
“Importantly, many of our girls, their partners, and their parents would be unable to attend if we were to proceed. We really do want an event, for as close to a full cohort as possible.”
The media spokeswoman has said the senior formal would be rescheduled to a new date, but the details were yet to be decided.
