Toowoomba Bypass interrupted by truck trailer fire at Ballard, emergency services respond

Just a week after lanes were shut for flood repairs, the Toowoomba Bypass has seen another incident that required emergency services.

Brakes Fail on the Toowoomba Range

Motorists on the Toowoomba Bypass faced interruptions on Monday morning after a truck trailer reportedly caught on fire.

Emergency services were called to the incident eastbound on the bypass at Ballard about 6.20am, with fire crews arriving to find the trailer smoking.

Police then managed traffic while fire crews wrapped up the matter.

It comes just a week after the Department of Main Roads revealed the eastbound lanes would be closed due to repairs needed for flood damage.

TWO-VEHICLE CRASH IN OAKEY

Emergency services have treated the occupants of two cars after they collided in Oakey on Saturday morning.

The incident reportedly occurred on the corner of Queen and West Streets just before 5.30am.

Ergon needed to be called after one of the vehicles hit a nearby power pole, but this did not result in downed power lines.

Paramedics assessed one man at the scene but did not need to be taken to hospital.
