Teenager allegedly robs tobacconist armed with knife

A teen is due to face court on Thursday, after he allegedly held up a tobacconist while armed with a knife on New Year’s Day.

A 16-year-old is due to face court on Thursday, after police claim he robbed a Toowoomba tobacconist while armed with a knife.

About 6.20pm, it will be alleged the 16-year-old boy entered the Ruthven Street business armed with a knife and threatened an employee.

The boy fled the scene on foot with items from the business.

Police located the boy a short time later on Station Street, where he was arrested.

He has been charged with one count of armed robbery and is due to appear before Ipswich Childrens Court on Thursday morning.
