A NEW sushi restaurant has opened up as part of the redevelopment of a Toowoomba shopping centre.

Oh Sushi and Bowls launched on Tuesday in the Wilsonton Shopping Centre, offering traditional Japanese cuisine both for dine-in and takeaway.

Restaurant owner Jong Hak Lee said he was excited to be part of the centre, particular since its owner Consolidated Properties was preparing to start the second phase of a combined $38 million revamp.

"After the successful launch of our Ipswich restaurant at Karalee Village, I wanted to expand our offering within the region and I was really impressed by Wilsonton's recent upgrade," he said.

"The new Oh Sushi and Bowls space is warm, cosy and welcoming - designed for locals to dine in or select from an array of takeaway options, while making the most of the other shopping attractions.

"I'm excited to be able to provide Toowoomba diners with fresh, authentic, healthy and tasty food options - in a convenient location in the heart of Wilsonton Shopping Centre."

Consolidated Properties Group's national retail leasing manager Rob Clifton said Oh Sushi and Bowls was a valuable addition to the centre.

"With a new outdoor dining space, the centre has become a premier food shopping destination in its own right - an accessible and convenient option for families who want to shop and dine in one simple location, with ample on-site parking," he said.
