STUDENTS of Mater Dei Primary School have donned their festive headwear and brought some Christmas cheer to patients at St Vincent's Hospital Toowoomba.

Spreading the season's message through song, the Year 4 students wandered the hospital's halls, singing Christmas carols.

Student Millie Goldsworthy said the plan was to also hand out cards to patients "to make their Christmas a bit better".

Henrietta Cullin-Willy looked forward to singing songs and making people happy.

"When you sing Christmas carols it always brightens your mood, and it makes everyone want to join in, and it makes you want to smile," Tess McLean said.

All the students were "very excited" take part.
