St Vincent’s, St Andrew’s hospitals announce visitor restrictions following Covid outbreak fears

New restrictions have been introduced by two Toowoomba hospitals as fears grow over a new Covid outbreak in south east Queensland.

Restrictions have been put in place at two of Toowoomba’s private hospitals in response to a growing cluster of Covid-19 cases in Queensland.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced this morning the state was “on the verge” of another lockdown after three new cases of Covid were detected in Queensland overnight.

In response St Vincent’s Private Hospital and St Andrew’s Hospital both introduced new rules and restrictions on visitors.

In a post on Facebook St Vincent’s Private Hospital announced that anyone living east of the Toowoomba range would need to wear a mask upon entering the hospital.

Areas include the Lockyer Valley, including Withcott and Murphys Creek, Ipswich, Redlands, Brisbane, Moreton, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Noosa, Scenic Rim, Logan and Somerset.

“Patients who have been in the following locations in the past 14 days must receive a negative Covid-19 test in Queensland before entering this hospital,” the statement said.

People who have been in any of the New South Wales hot spots in the past 14 days are restricted from entering.

At St Andrew’s Hospital, visitors are restricted from entering if they have been at any New South Wales Covid-19 hot spots, or exposure venues across the country and New Zealand.
